Welcome to team #SarahStrong
I have worked in bone marrow transplant since 1991. In the past few years my life has been forever changed due to the deaths of three people. My mom, Nancy Badgero died suddenly from AML/Leukemia and my closest friend since the 5th grade, Dennis Cecrle died of lung cancer. Most recently, a patient who became a friend, Sarah Ogle, # SarahStrong died from complications of CML a form of leukemia. She changed my life in ways that continue to amaze me. I have seen so much courage from so many patients and family members who have faught this fight and who continue to fight. There has been so much progress in many areas of cancer and we need to continue to improve our treatments and outcomes through research. My life has been touched by so many peolple with cancer, and I am participating on team # SarahStrong in honor of my mother, Dennis and of course Sarah.
I'm working to end cancer … and I need your help! I will match all donations that I generate in order to reach my goal of $1,000.
On Saturday, December 8, 2018, I'm participating in the 13th annual Miles for Moffitt run/walk event. One hundred percent of proceeds from this event go completely to support lifesaving cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffitt researchers are at the very front lines of the effort to defeat cancer. They've already made so many amazing breakthroughs, and cancer patients here in Florida and around the world have benefited from their efforts.
But there's so much MORE work to do. So many MORE lives still to be saved!
That's why I'm asking you to support me in my Miles for Moffitt run/walk. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, every penny will help bring closer the day when cancer is no longer a threat. Please do what you can to help. Thank you so very much!
Sicerely, Kirk Badgero
