Little by little, a little becomes a lot!
Hello family and friends. This is my fourth year participating in Miles for Moffitt (MFM).
My motivation to find a cure for cancer is rooted from the loss of my aunt in 2009. She was only 37 years old with a young daughter when she passed away.
Shockingly, on January 28, 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage I invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. It was the worse day of my entire life and I was so scared. Before I knew of my staging, I wondered if I was going to die and how much time I had left on Earth. I never thought in a million years this would happen to me, because I practice a pretty healthy lifestyle, but it did!
Fortunately, I was treated at Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC) with the best oncology team around. Because of God's work and the work of Dr. John Kiluk and Dr. Amber Orman, I shout from the highest mountain, I am a BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR!!!
However, the fight does not stop with me. I have made a lifelong commitment or until we find a cure, to raise awareness and funds for critical cancer research at MCC.
On Saturday, November 23, 2019 , I'm participating in the 14th annual MFM run/walk event. Every dollar of my registration fee and every dollar of my fundraising efforts that I bring in go completely to support lifesaving cancer research at MCC. Moffitt researchers are at the very front lines of the effort to defeat cancer. They've already made so many amazing breakthroughs, and cancer patients here in Florida and around the world have benefited from their efforts.
But there's so much MORE work to do. So many MORE lives still to be saved!
That's why I'm asking you to support me in my MFM run. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, every penny will help bring closer the day when cancer is beaten. Please do what you can to help. Thank you so much!
