Long Strides Against Cancer
We're working to end cancer … and we need your help!
As most of you know I am a two time cancer survivor. I am extremely passionate about cancer research, education and awareness. At the age of 23 (while living in Maine) I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, I had surgery and recovered and thought this couldn't possibly happen again. Unfortunately, it did. In 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction and was treated by the most amazing staff at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa which is why I passionately believe in them. My breast surgeon, plastic surgeon and oncologist became a very big part of our lives. I have not only been a patient at Moffitt but a volunteer as well.
On Saturday, December 8, 2018, Our team is participating in the 13th annual Miles for Moffitt run/walk event. All proceeds go completely to support lifesaving cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffitt researchers are at the very front lines of the effort to defeat cancer. They've already made so many amazing breakthroughs, and cancer patients here in Florida and around the world have benefited from their efforts.
I would be honored to have you join my team to walk or make a donation. Every dollar helps! On the right hand side of this page there are links to join and/or donate. To make a donation just click on the "Donate Now" button. If you decide to Join the Team please select the 3K walk item when registering, our team name is "Long Strides Against Cancer."
I have been honored by the support my family and friends have given me - thank you very much:)
