welcome to my personal fundraising page!
Courage brings us together. Nothing can tear us apart.
nine years ago, three days before a birthday in Oct 2011, i heard the words, "heather, it's cancer," and the breast cancer JOurneY began. in July 2015, i heard the words, "heather, the breast cancer has metastasized to the right pleura." this propelled me further into warrior mode.
here i am, thrIVing fIVe years after hearing the word metastatic, a word i did not ever want to hear or thought i would hear. while side effects and collateral damage affect the body and it's enerGy, i was not going to let CANcer thwart the body's ability to persevere. and i persist because i CAN!
on Saturday 24 October, i participated in the 15th annual Miles for Moffitt. this year was virtual; i ran locally with members of the Lakeland Runner's Club. i've participated for fIVe years, with the past three being consecutive. each time is a new experience, and the mission is the same...to save lives!
while the run is done, you CAN still be of service. please consider making a tax deductible donation. one hundred percent of the proceeds from this event go to life saving research at Moffitt, where i receive care. your support of me allows the research program to help save lives, now and in the future.
