Welcome to My Personal Fundraising Page!
This year, I'm participating in Miles for Moffitt and moving for what matters - love, courage, and finding the cures to cancer.
I am doing this in honor of my husband, Bill. Moffitt was a Godsend, it was only Him that brought us to Florida when He did. Little did we know that we would be facing a crushing diagnosis within months after the move. I don't think many know that when Bill was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma it was a re-occurrence of the same cancer that caused him to lose his eye over 30 years earlier. The prognosis was 6 to 9 months at that time (which is now over 5 years ago). It was by the grace of God that Moffitt was doing a research study on melanoma that had metastisized to the brain. The study was taking 70 participants and Bill was number 69. Two long years of treatment and he is still here. Bill will talk to anyone about his experience as he tells everyone God had a plan for him and he just had to trust.
If you haven't been to Moffitt before, let me tell you how AWESOME they are. Caring for everyone, not just the patient. Doctors, nurses, technicians, volunteers. All AWESOME.
This fundraising run that I am doing will be my second. For the first time I will be running a 10K. In addition to being in honor of my love, I will also be running in memory of two other great men that battled cancer too, Arthur Sherman, my father in law and Robert Snyder, my grandfather.
I'm asking for your support as I fundraise for cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Research at Moffitt results in new clinical trials and new treatments that help improve the lives of those touched by cancer.
Please join me in raising funds for patients, families, survivors, and caregivers by joining my team or making a gift to my personal fundraising page. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, every dollar matters to supporting Moffitt's mission - to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
Thank you for your support and being an important part of the Miles for Moffitt community!
