Courage brings us together. Nothing can tear us apart.
On Saturday, October 24th, 2020, we are participating in the 15th annual Miles for Moffitt run/walk event. Team Sampson is virtually running in memory of our dear friend Lauren Sampson who lost her battle with Leukemia in 2014. Shortly thereafter, her mother Sandy was diagnosed with Lymphoma. While Sandy beat Lymphoma for a time, she was then diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a type of cancer that developed as a result of her high-dose chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant she received four years go. Sandy passed away on September 25th of last year, and we remain heartbroken.
Lauren and Sandy received world-renowned treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center. Although Lauren and Sandy are no longer with us, their loving spirits live on through Team Sampson and we are excited to reconvene and race together again for a cure...even virtually!
Every dollar of every team member's registration fee ... and every dollar our fundraising efforts bring in ... go completely to support lifesaving cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffitt researchers are at the very front lines of the effort to defeat cancer. They've already made so many amazing breakthroughs, and cancer patients here in Florida and around the world have benefited from their efforts. That's why we're asking you to support Team Sampson in our Miles for Moffitt run —either by signing up to virtually participate yourself (we’d love to have you on the team!), or by giving a tax-deductible gift to support our efforts. Whether you can give $10 or $1,000, every penny will help bring closer the day when cancer is beaten. Please do what you can to help.
Thank you so much!
